It began the way most great things do — with one woman who decided to show up for others. A single online community. A space to share, to vent, to celebrate, to grow. And then another woman joined. And another.
Before long, over 14,400 pharmacist women had found their people. Across every specialty, every career stage, every background — the community became something no one anticipated: a movement.
The Pharmacist Women Networking Association was founded to give that movement a professional home — a conference stage, a credential, and the recognition pharmacy women have always earned.

Chara Reid-Reed, PharmD is the Founder and CEO of PWNA. Coming up in pharmacy without a mentor, she learned firsthand how isolating it can feel to navigate a career as a female leader in healthcare. Rather than accept that gap, she decided to fill it — starting with a private Facebook group that grew into a national movement of over 14,400 pharmacist women. Today she leads PWNA with a clear mission: to ensure that no woman in pharmacy has to figure it out alone.
